Brandon Thompson enters his third season at Washington University in St. Louis as an assistant volleyball coach in 2019.
The Bears finished 2018 with a 26-8 overall record and earned their 32nd consecutive berth into the NCAA Division III Tournament. WashU also had a pair of All-Americans in 2018 and 2017, as Julianne Malek and Ifeoma Ufondu earned the honors in back-to-back seasons. The selections marked the 33rd straight season the WashU volleyball program has had an individual highlighted with All-America honors.
Thompson joined the WashU volleyball staff after serving as an assistant coach with Millikin University from 2014-15. The Big Blue posted a record of 30-10 in his first season as an assistant.
Prior to coaching, Thompson played volleyball for the Lindenwood University Lions in 2011 and 2014.
The Alorton, Ill.-native works as a human resources coordinator at Royal Sonesta Chase Park Plaza and is an avid bowler with three perfect games to his credit.
