No. 13 WashU Splits Pair of Matches in Texas

San Antonio, Texas, Feb. 23, 2019 – The No. 13-ranked Washington University in St. Louis women's tennis team concluded its trip to the Lone Star State by splitting a pair of matches Saturday in San Antonio, Texas.

The Bears were tripped up by No. 21 and host Trinity University (Texas) 5-4 in the morning match, and then rebounded with an 8-1 win over East Texas Baptist University in the afternoon. 

Sophomore Ally Persky won three of four matches on the day, including an upset win with senior Lisa Chionis over the No. 13 ranked doubles team from Trinity. Persky also defeated Division III's No. 14 ranked singles player from ETBU for the first ranked singles win of her career.
