Women’s Tennis Season Ends in NCAA Individual Championships

Claremont, Calif., May 22, 2014 – Washington University in St. Louis sophomore Jamie Silverberg, freshman Rebecca Ho and senior Corinne Rauck had their seasons come to an end with losses in the 2014 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Individual Championships Thursday at Biszantz Family Tennis Center.

Silverberg faced No. 3-seeded Jordan Brewer of Amherst College in the round of 32, falling 6-2, 6-2. Silverberg finished the season with an 18-11 singles record and will enter her junior season with an overall career record of 73-33.

One of 16 doubles teams in the NCAA Individual Championships, Ho and Rauck faced the second-seeded team from Amherst of Brewer and Gabby Devlin. The Amherst duo was able to complete a 6-3, 6-3 victory against Ho and Rauck, ending their season with a 12-5 record as a doubles team. Rauck finished her career ranked 18th on Washington University's wins list with a 106-53 overall career record, while Ho finished an outstanding freshman campaign with a 40-9 mark overall.

Silverberg was the 13th player in Washington U. women's tennis history to be selected for the individual singles championship, while Ho and Rauck were just the seventh doubles team in school history to appear in the individual championships.
