Intramural Sports

Intramural Sports

Intramural Sports are a fun and relaxing way to get to know a lot of people through organized recreational activities. All full-time students, faculty, and staff with a valid WashU ID are eligible to participate.

The Washington University Office of Recreation is growing as we near the opening of the Gary M. Sumers Recreation Center. Included in this growth is the expansion of our intramural programs with new offerings for the 2016-17 academic year.

In addition to new leagues and events, WashU Rec is also changing the setup of leagues. There will be three types of leagues available to competitors this year — Open, Co-Rec and Women's. Open leagues are open to anyone and everyone with no gender ratio requirements or scoring modifications. Co-Rec leagues are open to anyone and everyone, but with specified gender ratio requirements and/or scoring modifications. Women's leagues are for women only. Also new this year, each league will feature two divisions — a "competitive" division and a "just for fun" division.

Lastly, WashU Rec is bringing back the Residential College IM Cup this year. Res Colleges that compete in any IM league or event throughout the year will be awarded points, and there will also be bonus points for winning. The Res College with the most points at the end of the year will have its name engraved on the cup.
