Kelcey Buck begins her fourth year as the Assistant SportsInformation Director at Washington University in St. Louis. Buckbegan her duties on November 7, 2011.
Buck arrived on the Danforth Campus after having served as theSports Information Director at Central Methodist for four years. Anative of Dunning, Neb., she joined the Central Methodist athleticstaff after graduating cum laude with a bachelor’s degree injournalism from Doane College in May 2008. Buck received herMaster’s of Education degree at Central Methodist in2010.
Buck’s responsibilities at Washington U. include handlingall publicity for baseball, cross country, men’s soccer,swimming and diving, track and field, volleyball, women’sbasketball and women’s tennis.
While at Central Methodist, Buck became an active member of theCollege Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Shecurrently serves on the CoSIDA Academic All-America Committee andthe Female Athletic Media Relations Executives (FAME) SteeringCommittee.
Buck has also volunteered at several championship events,including the 2009 USA Outdoor Track & Field NationalChampionships, the 2009 and 2010 NAIA Division I Men's BasketballNational Championships and the 2010 NCAA DIII Volleyball NationalChampionship.
While at Doane, Buck worked as a student assistant in theschool's sports information department. She spent the summer of2007 serving as an intern in the communications department at USATrack & Field in Indianapolis, Ind. Buck also had an internshipat the Nebraska School Activities Association during her senioryear at Doane.
As a member of Doane’s track & field team, Buck was afour-time NAIA national qualifier in the throwing events.
