Bears Fall to No. 1 Messiah in National Championship
No. 1 ranked Messiah College repeated as the NCAA Division III Women’s Soccer National Champions with a 1-0 victory over No. 12 Washington University in St. Louis on Saturday afternoon at the Blossom Soccer Complex in San Antonio, Texas.

Held and Rosoff Named to NSCAA All-America Team
Washington University seniors Libby Held and Caryn Rosoff were named to the 2009 NSCAA/adidas Division III Women’s Soccer All-America Team. Rosoff and held become the first two players in school history to earn multiple All-America honors.

WU Lands Seven on Jewish Review All-America Team
Six members of the 2009 NCAA Division III national runner-up women’s soccer team and senior Nat Zenner of the men’s soccer team have been named to the Jewish Sports Review All-America Soccer Team. Seniors Becca Heymann (right), Caryn Rosoff and Libby Held joined freshman goalkeeper Clara Jaques on the first-team.

Washington University had three student-athletes named to the 2009 National NSCAA All-Central Region Team. Seniors Libby Held and Caryn Rosoff were named to the first team, while senior midfielder Becca Heymann earned third-team accolades.

Senior Carter Schwarberg drilled home the game-winning penalty kick as the No. 12 women’s soccer team advanced to its first NCAA Division III National Championship final with a 4-3 shootout win over No. 21 Lynchburg College on Friday in San Antonio, Texas.
