Athletic Training
Athletic Training Facilities
The sports medicine facility at Washington University is located in the athletic complex. The facility is available for treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for the Washington University intercollegiate athletes. The sports medicine facilities consist of an athletic training room and a rehabilitation room.
Training Room
The athletic training room is designed to accommodate taping and preventative techniques, first aid care, and therapeutic treatment services. The facility is equipped with a complete selection of electrical modalities such as electrical muscle stimulation and ultrasound machines with the purpose of maximizing healing and recovery from injury. It also includes a hydrotherapy area, treatment tables, taping tables, and office and storage space.
Rehabilitation Room
The rehabilitation room has resistance machines, stretching apparatus and proprioceptive equipment within an exercise facility. The purpose is to strengthen and recondition the injured athlete. The weight room is also utilized during the final stages of the strengthening process.
