The High School ID Camp is specifically designed to introduce prospective student athletes to the WashU soccer program, July 9-12.
Fees-Resident: $600; Commuter: $460
Contact: Joe Clarke and staff, (314) 935-5147
This camp's focus is on positioning and decision making in small and large group-play situations. Players are evaluated daily and camp sections are made based on ability. Player movement occurs daily based on performance. Groups are adjusted daily based on performance. We believe the game is the best teacher so we will be playing and competing a lot. We will also have some chalk sessions to instruct players on how the WashU coaches see the game.
Other benefits of the camp include:
• live in the dorms and eat in the cafeterias
• meet with an admissions representative who highlights the extensive opportunities at WashU
• participate in a round table discussion with present college players and hear how they balance the demands of soccer, academics and social life
• interact with college coaching staff and players during camp sessions
• meet other campers also considering WashU and other high academic colleges
Camp enrollment will range between 80-120 individuals. 75% of the players at camp are entering their junior or senior year in high school. On average, we have campers from 25-30 different states and a few from overseas. In the past few years we have also had campers from Egypt, France, Spain, Italy, Costa Rica and Switzerland.
