Andy Weatherford begins his third season as an assistant coach for the Washington University in St. Louis cross country and track & field programs in 2014. During the track & field season, he works primarily with the steeplechase runners.

A native of Greencastle, Ind., Weatherford was a member of the Indiana University cross country and track & field teams. He earned All-America honors with a 10th-place finish in the steeplechase in 2011. A 12-time Big Ten all-academic first-team honoree, Weatherford also received NCAA Division I all-academic first-team honors three times in his career.

Weatherford was a standout student-athlete at Greencastle High School where he was a two-time state champion in the 1,600. He posted the eight-fastest 1,600 time in state history (4:08), and was also a two-time all-state cross country finisher. For his achievements, Weatherford will be honored as a 2015 Indiana High School Track & Field Hall of Fame inductee.

Weatherford graduated with honors from Indiana in 2012 with degrees in English and biology. He completed his master's at Washington University in St. Louis in 2014, and is currently pursuing a doctorate degree in English at Washington U.

In addition to coaching and pursuing his doctorate, Weatherford acts as a peer mentor for Washington University's English Department's graduate program. He also works with WUSTL's BALSA Group, a graduate student group conducting marketing research for startup biotechnology firms.
