Danny Feldman joins the Washington University in St. Louis cross country and track & field programs as an assistant coach for his first season in 2014-15.
Feldman brings two years of prior coaching experience to the Danforth Campus. Most recently, he was a volunteer assistant for the cross country and track & field teams at NCAA Division I Northern Arizona University in 2013-14. The Lumberjacks finished as the NCAA Men's Cross Country runner-up in 2013, and Feldman served as the strength & conditioning coach for All-American Futsum Zienasellassie.
Prior to his year at Northern Arizona, Feldman was the head girls' indoor and outdoor track & field coach at Amherst Regional High School in Amherst, Mass., in 2012-13. He guided the team to a third-place finish at the indoor conference meet, before finishing as the conference runner-up outdoors. Feldman's team set three school records in the sprints, and posted a pair of top-10 finishes in the state of Massachusetts in the girls' 100 and 200. In addition, Feldman helped coach Amherst's Aybars Gungor to a New Balance Outdoor Nationals Emerging Elite men's javelin meet record (179-2).
A native of Haddonfield, N.J., Feldman was a two-year member of the track & field team at the University of Mary Washington, competing in the javelin, discus, hammer and weight throws. He graduated from Mary Washington in 2010 with bachelor's degrees in German and business administration. Feldman completed his Masters of Public Health in community health education at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst in 2013.
