Warrenville, Ill., Sept. 19, 2015 – Junior Ryan Becker led seven top-12 finishers for the Washington University in St. Louis men's cross country team, and the WashU women placed seven runners in the top-25 as both teams won the team titles at the Gil Dodds Invitational hosted by Wheaton College (Ill.) Saturday morning.
Becker raced to the first individual title of his career with an 8K time of 25:13 to win by 19 seconds over the runner-up. He led five Bears in the top-10 and seven in the top-12 as the WashU men won the team title over 11 other teams. The Bears scored 25 points to easily outpace the University of Chicago, who finished second with 66 points.
Senior Ellen Toennies led seven runners in the top-25 for the WashU women, placing fourth in the 6K race with a time of 22:26. The Bears scored 46 points to win the team title by 11 points over runner-up Chicago.
