St. Louis, Mo., Nov. 17, 2013 – A day after finishing third at the Midwest Regional, the Washington University in St. Louis women's cross country team was one of 16 teams selected at-large to compete in the 2013 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships Saturday, Nov. 23. The WUSTL women will join the Bears men, who earned an automatic bid to the national meet with their runner-up finish at the Midwest Regional.
The Washington U. women are one of four University Athletic Association (UAA) teams who will compete at the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships. University of Chicago and Emory University earned automatic bids, while Washington U. and Brandeis University were among the at-large teams. This will be Washington U.'s 12th appearance all-time at the NCAA Championships, and the fifth time in school history that both the men's and women's teams from Washington University will compete at the national meet.
The 2013 NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships will be held Saturday, Nov. 23, at Hanover College in Hanover, Ind. The women's race is set to start at 11 a.m. (ET), followed by the men's race at 12:30 p.m.
