The Washington University in St. Louis women's volleyball program has announced the hire of full-time assistant coach Greg Selle, effective March 27.
Selle previously served as a part-time assistant coach with the Bears in two stints, including last year. WashU posted a 24-10 overall record in 2017 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the 31st consecutive season. The Bears also won their 22nd University Athletic Association (UAA) title.
"We are excited to have Greg join our staff in a full-time position," shared head coach Vanessa Walby. "He has dedicated a lot of his free time to help and support our program and players. It was clear he was passionate about WashU and understood why it is so special to be a part of our program and university."
During Selle's time with the Bears in 2015, WashU posted a 34-3 record. The Bears advanced to the NCAA Division III Regional Finals and concluded the year as the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) No. 4 ranked team.
"I am looking forward to becoming an integral part of the team both on and off the court, while continuing to build on the success that the WashU volleyball program has had over the years," added Selle. "I would like to thank coach Walby for the opportunity to grow alongside her for two years, and look forward to learning from her in a full-time role."
