Malek Awarded Google Cloud Academic All-District

GOOGLE CLOUD ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT
St. Louis, Mo., Nov. 16, 2018 –
Senior middle hitter Julianne Malek of the Washington University in St. Louis volleyball team was selected for the Google Cloud Academic All-District Five Team, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Malek is an accounting and organization & strategic management major with a minor in Spanish at WashU and has a cumulative grade point average of 3.68. She not only led the Bears in hitting percentage but currently leads Division III with a .438 mark. Additionally, Malek was awarded American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) First Team All-America honors while tallying 355 kills, 107 blocks and 50 service aces.

To be eligible for nomination to the Google Cloud Academic All-District Team, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore in academic standing with at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA, and must be a starter or an important reserve.

Malek is now eligible to be selected to the Google Cloud Academic All-America Team, announced Dec. 12.
