WashU Volleyball Welcomes Seven in Class of 2022

St. Louis, Mo., August 7, 2018 – Washington University in St. Louis head volleyball coach Vanessa Walby announced the Bears' Class of 2022, as the program will add seven freshmen to the roster in 2018.

The incoming Bears hail from five states: Michaela Bach, St. Louis, Mo. (John Burroughs School/Forsyth School), Maya Borenstein, Englewood, Colo. (Cherry Creek), Claire Byrne, Downers Grove, Ill. (Benet Academy), Grace Cardenas, Dallas, Texas (Ursuline Academy of Dallas), Samantha Kaiser, Evanston, Ill. (Evanston Township), Abby Li, Alexandria, Va. (Thomas A. Edison) and Caitlin Lorenz, San Antonio, Texas (Tom C. Clark).

"I am really looking forward to adding the 2022 class to our roster," added Walby. "I think they will bring a nice skill set and personality to our current team. They have a passion for the game and are excited to be a part of something bigger than themselves.

They have great leaders and role models currently in our program to learn from on a daily basis. I am excited for them to join the family and I look forward to watching them learn, develop and grow in our program's culture."
