No. 5 Volleyball Travels to Pittsburgh for UAA Championship

St. Louis, Mo., Nov. 5, 2014 - The No. 5-ranked Washington University in St. Louis volleyball team is set to travel to Pittsburgh, Pa., for the 2014 UAA Championship Tournament hosted by Carnegie Mellon University Friday-Saturday, Nov. 7-8.

Washington U. (31-4) earned the No. 1 seed in the tournament with a 6-1 record in the UAA Round Robins during the regular season. The Bears will face No. 8-seed Brandeis University (7-21) in the quarterfinal at Noon (ET) Friday. Washington U. will then square off against either No. 4-seed Case Western Reserve University (16-11) or No. 5-seed University of Chicago (24-11) in a second match Friday afternoon.

The other side of the bracket features No. 2-seed Emory University (31-3) vs. No. 7-seed University of Rochester (16-17) and No. 3-seed Carnegie Mellon (21-9) against No. 6-seed New York University (19-16). The semifinal matches are scheduled for 4 p.m. (ET) Friday, followed by the consolation semifinals at 6. The third-, fifth- and seventh-place matches will be contested at 10 a.m. (ET) Saturday, followed by the championship match at 1 p.m.
