Deering and Persky Fall in Three Sets at Oracle Cup

Rome, Ga., Oct. 14, 2017 – Senior Grace Deering and freshman Ally Persky of the Washington University in St. Louis women's tennis team fell in three sets Saturday in the fifth-place match of the 2017 Oracle Cup held at the Rome Tennis Center in Rome, Ga.

Deering and Persky, the Central Region Doubles Champions, suffered a 3-6, 7-6 (11-9), 10-4 defeat to No. 4 seed Vinaya Rao and Melissa Strome of Carnegie Mellon University.

The duo finished the fall with a 7-2 record.

The ITA Oracle Cup is comprised of eight regional champions (and/or at-large selections) for both singles and doubles from NCAA Divisions II and III, NAIA and Junior/Community Colleges. The singles and doubles champions at each divisional level then compete to become the overall "Super Bowl" champions.
