No. 13 Women's Tennis Opens Season With Win at No. 12 Sewanee

Sewanee, Tenn., Feb. 12, 2016 – The No. 13-ranked Washington University in St. Louis women's tennis team begin its season by earning a 6-3 win at No. 12 Sewanee Friday afternoon.

The Bears won two of three doubles matches, then sophomore Grace Deering, senior Jamie Silverberg and junior Rebecca Ho each won in straight sets to clinch the victory for the Bears.

• Silverberg brought her career wins total to 115, passing Elizabeth Kelsey (1988-92) and Theresa Petraskova (2011-14) for 11th on WashU's all-time career wins list.
• Sewanee defeated WashU 5-4 in the NCAA Second Round to end the Bears' season in 2015.
