Mason, Ohio, May 21, 2015 – Washington University in St. Louis sophomore Rebecca Ho and junior Jamie Silverberg had their seasons come to an end Thursday at the NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Individual Championships at the Lindner Family Tennis Center.
Ho got off to a strong start in her singles match in the Round of 32 Thursday morning, winning set one 6-2 over Amherst College's Sue Ghosh. Ghosh won the first five games of the second set to take a commanding lead, but Ho battled back to make it 5-2 before Ghosh was able to get the 6-2 win and force a third set.
In the decisive set, Ho grabbed a 3-1 lead before Ghosh rattled off four straight games to serve for the match leading 5-3. Ho got a break to make it 5-4, but Ghosh answered with a break to win set three 6-4, ending Ho's season in singles. Ho finished the season with a 29-4 singles record. She won the USTA/ITA Central Region Singles Championship in September to become the sixth singles player in school history to earn All-America honors.
Ho and Silverberg then faced Juli Raventos and Linda Shin of Williams College Thursday afternoon in the doubles Round of 16. The Bears' duo lost 6-2, 6-2 to end their season with a 20-9 mark.
