Sumter, S.C., Oct. 9, 2014 – Washington University in St. Louis sophomore Rebecca Ho had her 10-match singles winning streak come to an end with a 6-2, 6-7 (1-7), 1-6 loss to Emory University's Beatrice Rosen in the quarterfinal of the 2014 USTA/ITA National Small College Championships Thursday morning at the Palmetto Tennis Center.

Ho won the first set of Thursday's match 6-2, but Rosen won the second-set tiebreaker 7-1 to even the match. Rosen, the fourth seed in the eight-person Division III singles draw, finished the match with a 6-1 win in the third set to advance to the semifinals. Ho's win in the first set was just the sixth set Rosen has lost in her last 20 matches.

Ho will face top-seeded Caroline Ward of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges at 10:30 a.m. (ET) Friday for a chance to advance to Saturday's fifth-place match. Ward was upset by Ashnaa Rao of Johns Hopkins University 6-1, 6-3 in Thursday's quarterfinal.
