St. Louis, Mo., Oct. 8, 2019 – Washington University in St. Louis senior forward Taylor Cohen was named the United Soccer Coaches Division III Women's National Player of the Week, as announced Tuesday by the organization.
Cohen, who was also named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Offensive Athlete of the Week on Monday, scored five goals and had an assist in a pair of wins for No. 5 WashU last weekend at home.
She recorded the first hat trick of her career in a 5-0 win over Millikin University Oct. 2, and then had two goals, including the game-winner, in a 3-1 win over No. 18 University of Rochester Oct. 6.
Cohen has seven goals and six assists for 20 points, and leads the UAA in assists. She ranks third all-time in WashU history in goals (44) and points (114), fourth in game-winning goals (15) and sixth in assists (26).
Cohen is the sixth WashU player in the last seven years to earn the honor – Darcy Cunningham, Nov. 7, 2017; Katie Chandler, Nov. 3, 2015; Lillie Toaspern, Sept. 23, 2014; Amy French, Nov. 11, 2014, Nov. 5, 2013.
