St. Louis, Mo., Dec. 8, 2017 – Washington University in St. Louis junior midfielder Darcy Cunningham was named to the 2017 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Scholar All-North/Central Region First Team, as announced by the Association Friday.
Cunningham, a first-team all-America and all-Central Region selection, started 18 of 19 games played for the Bears. She was third on the team with four goals and 11 assists for 19 points. Cunningham, a first-team all-University Athletic Association (UAA) selection, ranked second in the conference and seventh on the WashU single-season list with 11 assists.
She netted game-winning goals against Fontbonne and Brandeis, and also had the tying goal against No. 1 Chicago. She was named the National Player of the Week and UAA Offensive Athlete of the Week on Nov. 7.
A 2017 Academic all-UAA honoree, Cunningham has a 3.33 grade point average while majoring in marketing.
WashU finished the 2017 season with a 17-2-1 record, and advanced to the Sweet 16 for the sixth time in the last seven seasons and for the 13th time in school history. The Bears were also the 2017 UAA champion.
