Sandestin, Fla., Oct. 16, 2017 – The No. 14-ranked Washington University in St. Louis women's golf team tied for the best score during round two with a 307 while doubling its overall lead to 14 strokes at the Golfweek Division III Fall Invitational at the Baytowne Golf Club.
The Bears two day score of 611 (304-307) leads the 16 team field, including seven top-25 programs within Golfstat's relative rankings. Rounding out the top-five two day scores are Huntingdon College (625), University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (638), Berry College (638), Methodist University (639) and Washington & Lee University (639).
After two rounds, sophomore Samantha Haubenstock is in second place with a two-day score of 149 (74-75). On the day Haubenstock totaled 13 pars and two birdies.
Senior Erin Drolet fired up the leaderboard with a three-over par 75 which included multiple birdies. After Monday's action she was tied for third with 151 strokes (76-75). Freshman Gigi Garcia moved into the top-10 with a second round score of 76 to pair with her day one 80.
Junior Chloe DiPetrillo posted a team-high four birdies during round two and is tied for seventh overall, 155 (74-81). Sophomore Emily Carnes is tied for 27th place after a two-day score of 161 (80-81).
The Bears have posted a tournament most 17 birdies as all five members in the lineup fired at least one on Monday.
