Erin Drolet Leads No. 3 Women’s Golf Past No. 23 Illinois Wesleyan

Springfield, Ill. April 28, 2015 – Freshman Erin Drolet paced the field with a career-best 1-under 71 as the No. 3-ranked Washington University in St. Louis women's golf team defeated No. 23 Illinois Wesleyan University by 24 strokes (297-321) in the IWU-WUSTL Dual Tuesday at the Panther Creek Country Club in Springfield, Ill.

Washington U. shot a 297 in the 18-hole dual match, its third-lowest score of the season. The Titans shot a 321 and were led by senior Amy Seter, who was sixth with a 79.

Drolet bettered her previous career-low round of 74 set on day two of the Joe Duncan Rhodes Invitational March 23. Senior Olivia Lugar and junior Connie Zhou tied for second with a 3-over 75, while sophomores Jessica Wibawa (76) and Samantha Han (78) completed the top-five sweep for WashU. Junior Erin Lawrence competed as an individual and shot an 85.

Selections for the 2015 NCAA Division III Championship will be announced Monday, May 4, at 5 p.m. The tournament will be held Tuesday-Friday, May 12-16 in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. The Bears are seeking their sixth-straight NCAA Tournament bid.
