Women’s Golf Tied for First After Day One of DePauw Classic

Clayton, Ind., Sept. 20, 2014 – Led by senior Olivia Lugar's opening round 75, the Washington University in St. Louis women's golf team sits in a tie for first place at the 2014 DePauw Small College Classic held Saturday at Deer Creek Golf Club in Clayton, Ind.

Washington U. and Wittenberg University are tied for first place in the 16-team field after an opening round 323. Huntingdon College (325), Carthage College (326) and host DePauw University (80) round out the top five.

Lugar has the overall lead by one stroke over Jane Hopkinson-Wood of Wittenberg, who fired an opening round 76. Junior Connie Zhou is four shots back and tied for fifth place after a 79 on day one.

The final round of the 2014 DePauw Small College Classic will conclude with 18 holes Sunday beginning at 9 a.m. (ET).
