Women’s Golf has Three Named WGCA All-American Scholars
St. Louis, Mo., July 18, 2014 – The Washington University in St. Louis women's golf team had three student-athletes named to the 2013-14 Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar Team, as announced by the organization. A total of 664 women's collegiate golfers were recognized from NCAA Divisions I, II and III.
Sophomore Erin Lawrence, junior Olivia Lugar and freshman Jessica Wibawa each received the honor for Washington U. Lugar was honored for the third-straight year, Lawrence picked up her second-consecutive distinction, and Wibawa was honored for the first time.
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team is a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 and adjusted scoring average of 95 or lower.
Washington U. posted a seventh-place finish at the 2014 NCAA Division III Championship, the second-highest finish in school history. The Bears were ranked No. 1 in the Golf World/National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) coaches' poll for the first time in school history and placed in the top-five in nine of 11 tournaments played.
