No. 2 Women’s Golf Takes Early Lead at George Fox Westbrook Invite

Peoria, Ariz., March 14, 2014 – The No. 2-ranked Washington University in St. Louis women's golf team shot an opening sits in first place after an opening round 304 Friday at the George Fox Westbrook Invitational at Westbrook Village Golf Course in Peoria, Ariz.

Washington U. holds a five-shot lead over host and No. 14 George Fox University (309) in the six-team field. No. 12 University of Redlands (311), No. 22 Wartburg (314), No. 18 Gustavus Adolphus College (318) and receiving votes Baldwin-Wallace College (331) round out the field.

Hannah Durette of Redlands fired a one-over 72 on the opening day, and holds a two-shot lead of Sam Falk of Gustavus Adolphus College and junior Olivia Lugar.
