St. Louis, Mo., Nov. 13, 2019 - Morgan Scott joins the Washington University in St. Louis women's basketball staff as a part-time assistant coach for the 2019-20 season.
Scott brings NCAA Division I coaching experience to the Bears' sideline, heading north to St. Louis after a two-season stint as an assistant coach at Southeast Missouri State (2017-19). The Redhawks put together a 27-34 record during her two years and collected their third- and fourth-straight Ohio Valley Conference tournament berths. She also coached the 2017 OVC Freshman of the Year, OVC Defensive Player of the Year and a First-Team All-OVC honoree in 2018.
Before heading to SEMO, Scott was a Graduate Assistant Coach at the University of Missouri in 2015-17. Scott helped the staff guide the squad to back-to-back 20-plus win seasons and back-to-back NCAA Tournament berths since the 1985-86 season.
As a student-athlete on the women's basketball team at Mizzou (2011-15), Scott still holds the program records in career three-pointers made (367), single season three-pointers made (112) and single game three-pointers made (11). She was named 2012-13 SEC Co-6thWoman of the Year while leading the nation in three-pointers made per game average (3.5). She also picked up an invite to the 2015 State Farm College three-point competition.
Scott graduated from the University of Missouri in 2015 with her undergraduate degree in business marketing and with a Master of Education in Educational, School and Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in positive coaching.
Scott and her husband, Michael Scott, Jr., were married in 2019. They are joined by a furbaby Barkley.
