Gordon Reiter is entering his fifth season as an assistant coach with the Washington University in St. Louis track & field program.
Last season, Reiter worked with All-Americans Emily Warner, Analise Wagner and Deko Ricketts. The trio of Bears earned All-American status by scoring in the indoor and outdoor NCAA Championships in the 800m. The women’s 4x400 relay team also won the Indoor National Championship while scoring during the outdoor NCAA’s as well.
Prior to joining WashU, Reiter was the cross country and track & field head coach at Missouri Baptist University (MBU). He coached nine NAIA All-Americans during his five years at MBU, in which he was named Cross Country Coach of the Year (2006) and MBU Athletic Director Award Coach of the Year (2010).
Reiter also served as the cross country and track & field head coach at Maryville University from 2003-05. He also was a coach of Parkway South High School for 28 years where he helped develop many Missouri All-State athletes, while serving as a physical education and health instructor at Sorrento Springs Elementary.
In 2013, Reiter was selected into the Missouri Track and Cross Country Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
In addition to coaching, Reiter has earned four straight decades of national top 10 rankings in the 800m as a Master’s track & field competitor dating back to 1981.
