St. Louis, Mo., May 30, 2019 – Sophomore Eka Jose of the Washington University in St. Louis women's track & field team was named the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Most Outstanding Women's Field Performer of the 2019 Division III National Championship.
Jose earned the honor by scoring the most points of any woman competing in field events during nationals. She had a pair of All-American honors and school records including a national championship in the triple jump.
Altogether, Jose tallied 15 points with a first place triple jump of 12.52m and a fourth place finish in the long jump, 5.96m. Both distances broke school records and the triple jump national title was Jose's second of the year as she also claimed the event title during the indoor season.
