WashU Track & Field Competes at Keck DIII Multis

Bloomington, Ill., Feb. 1, 2019 – The Washington University in St. Louis track & field team began competition during the Keck D-III Select Multis on Friday evening at the Shirk Center.

WashU had three competitors in the pentathlon as sophomores Rachel Novick and Rachel Holstein as well as freshman Becca Tarter finished third through fifth out of six student-athletes.

Novick totaled 2,925 points to lead the Bears. She posted the second fastest time in the 60m hurdles (9.88) to score 735 points and 532 points with the second best distance in the long jump (4.90m). Holstein placed fourth with 2,575 points tying for the top height in the high jump (1.49m). Tarter was fifth with 2,208 points.

Also competing for the WashU men was senior Quin Preston in the heptathlon. After three of the seven events, Preston is in third place with 1,277 points. He posted the second best long jump distance (6.16m).
