St. Louis, Mo., May 9, 2016 — Washington University in St. Louis seniors Josh Clark and Emily Warner were named University Athletic Association Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, as announced by the conference office.
Clark garnered UAA Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week honors for the first time this season and third time in his career after breaking his own school record by 0.87 seconds to finish third in the men's 1,500 Run Fast Section with a time of 3:46.03 at the Billy Hayes Invitational hosted by Indiana University Friday in Bloomington, Ind. The career-best time for Clark was also the sixth-fastest time in NCAA Division III this season.
Warner raced to a first place time of 2:10.33 in the 800 at the Billy Hayes Invitational Friday to earn UAA Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week honors for the first time this season and sixth time in her career. Warner's time is second in the UAA and 11th in NCAA Division III.
The WashU men's and women's outdoor track & field teams return to action next week at the Dr. Keeler Invitational hosted by North Central College Thursday-Friday, May 12-13, in Naperville, Ill.
