Grottkau Commences UAA Championships in One-Meter Dive

Chicago, Ill., Feb. 13, 2019 – The University Athletic Association (UAA) Swimming & Diving Championships began Wednesday in Chicago, Ill. as the men's one-meter diving competition commenced the four-day championship.

Sophomore Matthew Grottkau of the No. 6-ranked Washington University in St. Louis men's swim & dive program posted a score of 332.20 during Wednesday's preliminary round. He placed 13th of 15 divers in the event.

The UAA Championships will proceed Thursday at 10 a.m. with prelims in the 200 freestyle relay, 500 freestyle, 200 individual medley, 50 freestyle and women's three-meter dive before finals in those events at 5:30 p.m. in addition to the 400 medley relay.
