Jennifer Whitehead enters her third season as an assistant softball coach at Washington University in St. Louis after after a four-year collegiate playing career at Benedictine College.
While assisting head coach Leticia Pineda-Boutté the past two seasons, WashU has posted back-to-back 30-win seasons and made a pair of appearances in the NCAA Tournament. The Bears have also posted a pair of University Athletic Association (UAA) championships, earning Whitehead a spot on the 2015 UAA Coaching Staff of the Year.
Whitehead was a four-year starter at first base for Benedictine, an NAIA school in Atchison, Kan. She was a two-time scholar-athlete and was a two-year captain.
The Columbia, Mo. native graduated with a bachelor's degree from Benedictine in 2011, and works full-time as a quality control specialist at Monsanto.
