Men’s Tennis Has Four Ranked Nationally by ITA

St. Louis, Mo., Nov. 21, 2019 – The Washington University in St. Louis men's tennis team has four singles players and one doubles team ranked in the 2019 Oracle ITA NCAA Division III Final Fall National Rankings, as announced by the Association Thursday. 

Juniors Ethan Hillis (No. 19) and Daniel Li (No. 28) are both ranked in the top-30 in singles, while junior Benjamin van der Sman (No. 41) and senior Bernardo Neves (No. 49) cracked the top-50.

Li made the deepest run in singles for WashU at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Central Region Championship, falling in the semifinals. Hillis and van der Sman advanced to the quarterfinals, while Neves fell in the round of 16.

In doubles, Neves and van der Sman are ranked No. 21 after a run to the semifinals in the ITA Central Region Championship.

WashU opens the 2020 spring season on Monday, Jan. 20 vs. NCAA Division I Butler University at Creve Coeur Racquet Club.
