Men's Tennis Lands Three on UAA All-Tournament Team


St. Louis, Mo., May 3, 2018— The 10-ranked Washington University in St. Louis men's tennis team had three student-athletes named to the 2018 University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship All-Tournament Team, as announced by the Association Thursday.

Sophomore Bernardo Neves was the selection at No. 2 singles, while senior Jason Haugen and junior Konrad Kozlowski earned the honor at No. 1 doubles.

Daniel Levine of Carnegie Mellon University and Jeremy Yuan of University of Chicago were named Co-Most Valuable Players. Chicago upset No. 2 Emory University 7-2 in the championship match to win its first UAA title in school history.

Neves posted a 3-0 record at the UAA Championship Tournament, wining a pair of matches in straight sets. He upset No. 40 Hayden Cassone of Emory in the semifinals 6-2, 3-6, 6-3

Haugen and Kozlowski posted three ranked wins at the UAA Championship Tournament to extend their winning streak to five matches. They upset No. 9 David Aizenberg and Anupreeth Coramutla of Brandeis 8-4 in the opening round, followed by an 8-5 win over No. 21 Scott Rubinstein and James Spaulding of Emory in the semifinals. The duo defeated No. 15 Chaz Downing and Levine of Carnegie Mellon 8-5 in the third-place match.

WashU posted a 2-1 record at the 2018 UAA Championship Tournament to finish third. The Bears upset No. 9 Carnegie Mellon 6-3 in the third-place match.
