St. Louis, Mo., May 17, 2017 — Washington University in St. Louis had four student-athletes named to the 2017 All-University Athletic Association (UAA) Men's Tennis Team, as announced Wednesday by the conference office.
Senior Jeremy Bush and freshman Bernardo Neves highlighted the honorees by earning second-team all-UAA honors in both singles and doubles. Bush was a second-team selection at No. 4 singles and at No. 2 doubles with freshman J.J. Kroot, while Neves earned second-team honors at No. 3-5 singles and at No. 3 doubles with sophomore Radha Vishnubhotla. In addition, Kroot earned honorable-mention all-UAA honors at No. 6 singles.
Bush has an 8-2 singles mark this season, including a 4-2 record at No. 4 singles. He teamed with Kroot to post a 14-9 overall record, including a 12-6 mark at No. 2 doubles. The duo also earned UAA Championship All-Tournament Team honors at No. 2 doubles.
Neves has compiled a team-leading 42-15 record as a freshman, including a 21-8 in singles. He was 10-4 while playing No. 3 singles, and has a pair of nationally-ranked win. Neves and Vishnubhotla have a 13-3 mark in doubles, including an 11-2 mark at No. 3 doubles.
Kroot has a 13-4 record playing singles this season, including a 6-0 mark at No. 5 and 5-0 record at No. 6. He has won 11-straight matches.
No. 4-ranked WashU (18-4) advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals for the 11th-straight season following a 5-1 victory over No. 28 Kenyon College. The Bears take on No. 7 and defending national champion Bowdoin College on Monday, May 22, at 2 p.m. (ET) at the Champions Tennis Club in Chattanooga, Tenn.
