St. Louis, Mo., May 10, 2017 — Washington University in St. Louis will send one singles player and a doubles team to the 2017 NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Individual Championships, held May 25-27 at The Champions Tennis Club in Chattanooga, Tenn.
Junior Johnny Wu was one of 32 individuals selected to compete in the singles championship, while junior Jason Haugen and sophomore Konrad Kozlowski were one of 16 doubles teams selected to compete in the championship.
Wu enters the postseason as the fifth-ranked singles player in the Central Region and No. 43 in NCAA Division III. He has a 15-13 record in singles this season, including a 10-10 mark at No. 1 singles. Wu has recorded three wins over ranked opponents.
Haugen and Kozlowski are ranked No. 4 in the Central Region and No. 23 in NCAA Division III. The duo has a 16-10 overall record, including a 10-8 mark at No. 1 doubles. They have also posted a 4-3 record against ranked teams.
WashU (16-4) will host the St. Louis Regional of the 2017 NCAA Division III Championship May 11-13, at the Tao Tennis Center. The Bears are the top seed in the five-team regional. WashU received a first-round bye and will take on the winner of Wheaton College (17-7) and Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (19-8) Friday at 11 a.m.
The draw for the individual championship will be released on the last day of the team championship, which is scheduled for May 22-24.
