No. 1 Men’s Tennis Falls to No. 3 Claremont in Stag-Hen Invitational Championship Match

Claremont, Calif. March 15, 2014 – The No. 1-ranked Washington University in St. Louis men's tennis team suffered an 8-1 loss to No. 3 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps College in the championship match of the Stag-Hen Invitational Saturday in Claremont, Calif.

Claremont, who remained unbeaten at 12-0, swept doubles play to jump out to a commanding 3-0 lead. Washington U. had its eight-match winning streak snapped and dropped its overall record to 10-2.

• Washington U. posted a 4-1 record on its 2014 Spring Break trip – including three top-15 wins.
