Richard "Rock" Rone enters his 12th season as an assistant coach with the Washington University in St. Louis men's soccer team in 2017. While on the sidelines for the Bears, Rone has been apart of two University Athletic Association (UAA) championships and seven trips to the NCAA Tournament. He was also a member of the UAA Coaching Staff of the Year in 2011.

Prior to joining the WashU coaching staff in 2006, Rone served as the head women's soccer coach at Harris-Stowe State University from 1995-2005. While at Harris-Stowe, he led the Hornets to an 87-79-12 record. From 1996-2001, Rone also worked as the head girls soccer coach at Nerinx Hall High School in St. Louis, leading his teams to a 118-16-8 record.

Rone is employed by the Animal Protection Association of Missouri in animal care and maintenance.
