St. Louis, Mo., Sept. 16, 2019 – Washington University in St. Louis sophomore forward Justin Hardy was named to the 2019-20 Street & Smith'sPreseason All-America Team, as announced by the magazine. Hardy was one of two sophomores named to the Honorable-Mention Team.
Hardy was named to the 2019 DIII News All-Freshman Team, and also picked up University Athletic Association Rookie of the Year honors a year ago.
He started all 25 games and was second on the squad averaging 14.6 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. Hardy ranked in the top-10 in the UAA in four categories: eighth in scoring and assist-to-turnover ratio (1.6), ninth in field-goal percentage (.549) and assists (3.0).
A second-team all-UAA selection, he scored in double figures in 19 of 25 games played, including a career-high 28 points vs. No. 19 Illinois Wesleyan University on Nov. 20. He recorded his first career double-double with 13 points and career-high 10 assists vs. Principia College on Dec. 6.
WashU takes on NCAA Division I Missouri State in an exhibition game on Oct. 30, followed by the 2019-20 season opener at Illinois College on Nov. 10.
