St. Louis, Mo., June 18, 2019 – Washington University in St. Louis forward Justin Hardy was named to the DIII News Men's Basketball All-Freshman Team, as announced by the publication.
Hardy, the University Athletic Association Rookie of the Year, started all 25 games and was second on the squad averaging 14.6 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. He ranked in the top-10 in the UAA in four categories: eighth in scoring and assist-to-turnover ratio (1.6), ninth in field-goal percentage (.549) and assists (3.0).
Hardy, a second-team all-UAA selection, scored in double figures in 19 of 25 games played, including a career-high vs. No. 19 Illinois Wesleyan University on Nov. 20. He recorded his first career double-double with 13 points and career-high 10 assists vs. Principia College on Dec. 6.
Head coach Pat Juckem led the Bears to a 17-8 record in his first season at WashU, and finished in a tie for second place in the UAA standings with a 10-4 mark. WashU has finished first or second 26 of 32 times in conference history.
