BEAR HEADLINES – The No. 11-ranked Washington University in St. Louis men's basketball team opens a two-game road trip on Tuesday, Dec. 12 at Fontbonne (2-6, 0-3 SLIAC). Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. as part of a doubleheader with the women's team. The Bears also travel to Illinois Wesleyan (7-1, 2-1 CCIW) for a key regional contest on Sunday, Dec. 17, at 3 p.m.

SANDERS NAMED UAA ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – For the second-consecutive week, senior forward Andrew Sanders was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week. Sanders recorded a double-double with a season-high 29 points and 14 rebounds in an 87-83 win over Central (Iowa) Saturday at home. He was 10-of-17 from the field and 9-of-12 from the foul line. The double-double for Sanders was the 14th of his career.

EDWARDS MOVES INTO TOP-10 – Head coach Mark Edwards picked up win No. 667 in a 77-73 victory over Ohio Northern University Nov. 25 to move into ninth all-time in NCAA Division III in wins. Edwards has compiled a 669-290 (.698) record in 37 seasons on the Danforth Campus, and is 14 victories shy of eighth all-time.

THOUSAND-POINT CLUB – Senior forward Andrew Sanders is 48 points shy of becoming the 24th member of the 1,000-point club. Sanders has scored 952 points in 67 career games, for an average of 14.2 points per game.

SECOND-HALF TEAM – WashU has trailed at halftime in five of seven contests this season. The Bears have been outscored 274-257 in the first half, but have a 330-283 scoring advantage in the second half. WashU is averaging 39.1 points in the first half and 47.1 in the second half.
