BEAR HEADLINES – The No. 9-ranked Washington University in St. Louis men's basketball team concludes a four-game road trip on Sunday, Dec. 3, at Alma College (0-3). Game time is set for 1 p.m. (ET) in Alma, Mich.

KNUPP NAMED UAA ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Senior guard Jake Knupp was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week on Nov. 27. Knupp averaged 21.0 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game as WashU posted a 2-1 record on the road last week. He led the Bears in scoring in all three contests, and notched 20 or more points on two occasions. Knupp had a career-high 25 points, seven rebounds and four assists in a 71-57 win at Principia Tuesday. He also had 21 points, four rebounds and three assists in a 96-74 loss at Mount St. Joseph Sunday.

SANDERS NAMED PRESEASON ALL-AMERICAN – Senior forward Andrew Sanders was named to the 2017-18 Street & Smith's Preseason Honorable-Mention All-America Team. Sanders, a 2017 D3hoops.com and NABC All-Central Region Second-Team selection, averaged a team-high 16.5 points and 6.3 rebounds per game in 27 starts for the Bears a year ago.

EDWARDS MOVES INTO TOP-10 – Head coach Mark Edwards picked up win No. 667 in a 77-73 victory over Ohio Northern University Nov. 25 to move into ninth all-time in NCAA Division III in wins. Edwards has compiled a 667-290 (.697) record in 37 seasons on the Danforth Campus.

SCOUTING ALMA – The Scots have opened the season with losses at Illinois Wesleyan (94-75), No. 2 Augustana (65-53) and Elmhurst (95-72). Sunday's contest with WashU is the 2017-18 home opener for the Scots. Alma is picked to finish second in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) after placing fourth in the league standings with a 12-14 overall record and an 8-6 mark in the league a year ago. Sophomore Preston Laketa (12.3 ppg), junior Kevin Gamble (11.0 ppg) and sophomore Ryan Stevens (11.0 ppg) all average in double figures for Alma, which averages 66.7 points per game and shoots 35.3 percent from three-point range.
