St. Louis, Mo., Nov. 27, 2017 — Washington University in St. Louis senior guard Jake Knupp was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week, as announced by the Association on Monday.
Knupp averaged 21.0 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game as No. 9 WashU posted a 2-1 record last week on the road. He led the Bears in scoring in all three contests, and notched 20 or more points on two occasions.
Knupp had a career-high 25 points, seven rebounds and four assists in a 71-57 win at Principia Tuesday, and then recorded 17 points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals in a come-from-behind victory over Ohio Northern Saturday. He concluded the week with 21 points, four rebounds and three assists in a 96-74 loss at Mount St. Joseph Sunday.
Knupp, who leads the team averaging 16.4 points per game, earned the honor for the first time in his career.
