BEAR HEADLINES – Fresh off the 34th Annual Lopata Classic Championship, the No. 9-ranked Washington University in St. Louis men's basketball team plays three road games this week. WashU stays local for a 7 p.m. tip on Tuesday at Principia, before playing two games at the Mount St. Joseph Tip-Off Classic Nov. 25-26 in Cincinnati. The Bears play Ohio Northern Saturday at 5 p.m. (ET) and Mount St. Joseph Sunday at 1 p.m. (ET).

KUCERA NAMED UAA ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Senior guard Kevin Kucera was named the University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week on Nov. 20. Kucera was also tabbed the Robert L. Burnes Most Valuable Player of the 34th Annual Lopata Classic after averaging 20.0 points, 9.5 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game in two wins. He had 19 points and nine assists in an 82-70 win over Wabash Friday, and then had a double-double with 21 points and 10 assists in a 98-94 victory over No. 6 Tufts in the championship game Saturday.

SANDERS NAMED PRESEASON ALL-AMERICAN – Senior forward Andrew Sanders was named to the 2017-18 Street & Smith's Preseason Honorable-Mention All-America Team. Sanders, a 2017 D3hoops.com and NABC All-Central Region Second-Team selection, averaged a team-high 16.5 points and 6.3 rebounds per game in 27 starts for the Bears a year ago.

BEARS PICKED TO WIN UAA TITLE – WashU was picked first in the UAA Preseason Coaches Poll. The Bears received seven first-place votes and are seeking their second-consecutive UAA title and 15th overall. Emory garnered the final first-place vote and was picked second.

EDWARDS MOVES INTO TOP-10 – Head coach Mark Edwards begins the 2017-18 season ranked in the top-10 all-time in NCAA Division III in wins. Edwards has compiled a 665-289 (.697) record in 37 seasons on the Danforth Campus and is one win shy of tying Illinois Wesleyan's Dennie Bridges for ninth on the all-time list.
