BEAR HEADLINES – The No. 5-ranked Washington University in St. Louis men's basketball team continues its four-game homestand against Emory University on Friday, Feb. 10, at 8 p.m. and No. 4 University of Rochester on Sunday, Feb. 12, at 11 a.m. The Bears are riding an 11-game winning streak and hold a one-game lead over Rochester in the University Athletic Association (UAA) standings with five conference games remaining. 

SANDERS EARNS UAA HONOR – For the second-straight week, junior forward Andrew Sanders was named the UAA Athlete of the Week. Sanders averaged 20.5 points and 9.0 rebounds per game and shot 54.2 percent from the field in two wins. Sanders recorded his first double-double of the season with 26 points and 10 rebounds in a 93-80 over Carnegie Mellon Friday, and then had 15 points and eight boards in a 102-97 win over Case Sunday. 

EDWARDS APPROACHING TOP-10 – Head coach Mark Edwards is in his 36th season on the Danforth Campus, and is 11th on the all-time NCAA Division III wins list with a 659-286 (.697) mark. He is one win from tying Glenn Van Wieren for 10th on the list.

UAA WINNING STREAK – The Bears have won 14-straight conference games dating back to last season, tied for the second-longest active streak in NCAA Division III. WashU last suffered a defeat in UAA play on Feb. 7, 2016, a 74-73 loss at Emory University. 

A LOOK AT THE STREAK – WashU is in the midst of a season-long 11-game win streak with five players averaging double figures – junior forward Andrew Sanders (16.5 ppg, 7.0 rpg), junior forward Matt Highsmith (12.0 ppg), senior forward Clinton Hooks (11.5 ppg), junior guard Kevin Kucera (10.6 ppg, 6.4 apg) and senior guard Michael Bregman (10.5 ppg). The Bears are averaging 84.4 points per game, shooting 47.5 percent from the field and out rebounding opponents by 6.7 during the streak.
