BEAR HEADLINES – After an 11 day layoff, the Washington University in St. Louis men's basketball team returns to action on Thursday-Friday, Dec. 29-30, at the 54th Annual E.M. "Mose" Hole/Kiwanis Classic in Wooster, Ohio. The Bears take on Ohio Wesleyan University Thursday at 5 p.m. (ET), followed by a matchup with host College of Wooster Friday at 7 p.m. 

SCOUTING OHIO WESLEYAN – The Battling Bishops average a conference-best 11.3 three-pointers made per game, and enter the contest with WashU riding a four-game winning streak. Nate Axelrod (16.0 ppg), Ben Simpson (16.0 ppg), Seth Clark (15.8 ppg) and Will Orr (10.8 ppg) average in double figures for OWU, who lead NCAA Division III in fewest turnovers per game (7.8). 

SERIES WITH OWU – The Battling Bishops lead the all-time series 2-1, and the teams are meeting for the first time since Nov. 25, 2011 – a 70-67 win by OWU in Memphis, Tenn.

SCOUTING WOOSTER – The Fighting Scots have split its last eight games, including an 80-79 loss to No. 3 Whitman Sunday in Walla Walla, Wash. Dan Fanelly (15.9 ppg), Spencer Williams (12.6 ppg) and Reece Dupler (10.8 ppg) average in double figures for Wooster, who lead the conference and rank 13th in Division III in rebounding margin (10.4). 

SERIES WITH WOOSTER – The Bears have won both meetings between the two teams. WashU defeated Wooster 92-84 on March 17, 2007 in the NCAA Division III Third-Place game, and then posted a 79-74 victory on March 7, 2008 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. 

TAKING CARE OF THE ROCK – Junior guard Jake Knupp has 29 assists and just four turnovers in eight games this season. Knupp leads NCAA Division III and is second in all NCAA Divisions with an assist-to-turnover-ratio of 7.25.
