Tim Shields enters his third season as the defensive line coach at Washington University in St. Louis.

Shields arrived on the Danforth Campus after spending the 2013 season as the running backs coach at Illinois College. He also had a stint as runnings backs coach and video coordinator at Waldorf College in 2012.

Shields was three-year starter on the offensive line at Illinois College, earning first-team all-conference honors in 2006 and second-team accolades in 2007. He graduated from Illinois College in 2008 with a bachelors degree in history and political science, and earned his law degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2011. 

While in law school, he served as the offensive line coach and special teams coordinator at Lansing Eastern High School. Shields passed the Missouri Bar in 2012. 

He has also worked for Wyatt Sports LLC and Sports Wealth Group in a various capacities.
