Kerman Mason begins his fifth season as an assistant football coach at Washington University in St. Louis. Mason, who will coach the defensive backs, has 12 years of high school coaching in the the state of Missouri.
Mason spent three years as an assistant coach at Parkway South and four years at Ritenour, and served as the defensive backs and junior varsity co-head coach for six seasons at Chaminade College Prep.
Mason played two years at Joliet Junior College and two years at Drake University. He was a second-team all-Pioneer League selection at defensive back for Drake in 1995. Mason graduated from Drake in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration, and earned a master’s degree in teaching from Lindenwood University in 2008.
A 1992 graduate of Parkway South High School, he and his wife, Kelly, have one son: Necho (12). Mason works full-time sales at Lohr Distributing Company in St. Louis.
